What this service is

Wildfirely provides estimated wildfire hazard information for US addresses, derived from public federal datasets, together with general editorial material about wildfire risk and homeowners insurance. It is an information service and nothing more.

No professional advice

We are not an insurer, insurance broker, licensed agent, financial adviser, attorney, engineer or fire protection professional. Nothing on this site is advice about your particular situation, and no relationship of professional advice is created by using it. Decisions about insurance coverage, property purchase, construction, vegetation management or personal safety should be taken with a suitably qualified professional in your state.

The score is an estimate

• It is a relative measure of how a location compares to others, not a prediction that a fire will or will not occur, and not a guarantee of safety.
• It is not the score your insurer uses, and it does not determine, predict or guarantee your insurability, your premium, or any carrier's decision.
• It is derived from third-party datasets of finite resolution, which may contain errors, be out of date, or have no coverage at a given point.
• It does not account for the characteristics of your individual structure — roof class, vent type, or the condition of the first five feet around the building — which are among the strongest determinants of whether a house survives.

No warranty

The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We depend on third-party government services and cannot guarantee they will be reachable or correct.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, or for any loss of property, income or data, arising from your use of or inability to use this site or anything obtained through it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us (which is normally nothing) or one hundred US dollars.

Acceptable use

You may use the site for your own personal or internal business purposes. You may not scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from it, resell or redistribute the scores, misrepresent them as an official or government assessment, use the site to harass or profile individuals, or attempt to interfere with its operation. Automated querying at volume will be blocked.

Third-party data and links

Underlying data is produced by federal agencies and other third parties under their own terms. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government agency. Outbound links are provided for convenience and we are not responsible for third-party content. Some links earn us a commission, as described in our privacy policy.

Our content

Editorial text, design and code on this site are ours. The underlying public datasets are not, and remain subject to their originators' terms. You may quote and link to our pages with attribution; you may not republish them wholesale.

Changes and termination

We may change these terms, or the site, at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the date above. We may suspend access for anyone breaching these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Wildfirely is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your own jurisdiction.

The service is directed at users in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.
