Partner with us

People arrive here having just found out their home sits in a high hazard band. The question that follows is almost always the same: who can actually help me. We would rather send them to someone good than leave them with a number.

Licensed insurance brokers

Independent brokers who can place high-hazard homes — surplus lines access, FAIR Plan and difference-in-conditions experience, and carriers that credit documented mitigation.

Mitigation contractors

Defensible space, vegetation management, ember-resistant vent retrofits, Class A roofing and home hardening. Regional coverage in the western states especially.

Data and research

Agencies, researchers, community wildfire councils and newsrooms wanting to use our hazard data or collaborate on analysis.

What we ask of partners

  • Proper licensing. Insurance partners must hold a current licence in every state where they accept referrals, and be able to evidence it. Contractors must be licensed, bonded and insured where their state requires it.
  • No cold calling. Contact only where the homeowner has asked to be contacted. Anyone who treats a referral as a lead list to be worked is removed.
  • Honesty about what you can do. If you cannot place a parcel, say so quickly. People in a non-renewal window have 45 to 75 days and cannot afford to waste two weeks.
  • No pressure on hazard. Nobody buys a change to a risk band, placement in a result, or a page written about them. If that is what you are looking for, we are not the right site.

What we will not do

We are not an insurer, broker or licensed agent, and we do not sell, place or bind coverage. We do not sell lists of addresses or search data to anyone. Nothing a partner pays for changes a score: the model is computed from federal data before any commercial consideration exists, and the weighting is published so that claim is checkable rather than asserted.

Using our data

Our scores derive from public federal datasets and our own weighting. If you want to use them in a product, a report or an article, get in touch and we will discuss attribution and access rather than have you scrape the site. Journalists: we will run custom queries for a story at no charge.
